Yearbooks
Ok, I had too much time on my hands while Miss K was doing school! There's a website http://www.yearbookyourself.com/ where you upload your picture and can see what you would look like in yearbooks from different years. It's a hoot!

Another School Year
Don't know why I didn't think of this years ago.... Oh wait. Maybe because I didn't do any scrapbooking then (NOT that I do much now!). Every year I go to an office supply store and buy a couple pieces of plasticized cardstock and I make my planbook for school. This year I forgot...and since Miss K is the only one still doing school, I decided I could do this! (Hint, hint for those of you just starting out homeschooling!)

This pic is actually from late spring or early summer. (Miss K's hair is much longer now.) We were playing around with the settings on my camera and found the one that turns everything black and white except for the one color you choose. It amazes me there is only a tiny amount of hair that is orange ☺
Take care. Thanx for stopping by.

Congrats Alissa
We've known Alissa since she was born. She's about 9 months younger than Sam, and they played together when they were young. She has grown into a talented, godly, intelligent young woman. And this past year she was a great role model to the younger girls in the high school group. She and Kali became friends. Kal will miss having her in the group!

Happy Birthday Kali
Today is Miss K's 15th birthday! Hard to believe she can be that old already! Where is that cute little babe with the orange hair standing straight up? Or the toddler with orange curls? Or the little cutey with the long strawberry blonde hair following her brothers around the acreage?

The bottom left picture was taken a couple weeks after she was born. Four generations of Skinners (my Grandma's family) and four generations of McCartneys (my Grandpa's family).
And now she's fifteen! Fifteen!!!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter!
Hope you had a great day!
Sam had to work until 2, so we had Easter supper instead of dinner. It was a lot more relaxed. No egg hunt this weekend. (Although I kinda miss that!) No scurrying home from church and scrambling to fix dinner. I took a nap! Not bad....
Decided we need to get better about taking at least ONE photo for holidays. When the kids were little, we took bazillions. Now we're lucky to remember one!

Take care.

Four Heads
While we were taking pictures at Mt. Rushmore, someone (I think it was Ryssa) said they should line up like the heads. So the kids are in order (oldest to youngest) corresponding with the Presidents.

Like the paper? I made it. More importantly, I made the "pattern" and saved it in a couple color variations! Ok, it doesn't thrill you, but it makes me happy ☺

Learning
What I wanted to show you is nothing spectacular. In scrapbooking there are kits and papers and elements and quick pages and on and on and templates. I finally found a tutorial I understood (my denseness...not the tutors) about HOW to use templates.
You take this simple template, put your picture in and size to fit. Then you put in papers and clip to fit the different design elements to personalize your page. THAT is as much as I understand...in simple English.

Oh my!!! It's Friday. Have a great weekend!

Connie's Birthday Dinner
Mom, Dad, and David got here about this afternoon. When the kids got off work, we all met at the Parth.enon for supper. Glad we went early...the place really filled up!!!
Last time we tried Saganaki and Baba Ghanoush.
Tonight we tried Saganaki (with and without the lemon),
Melitzanasalata, and Roasted Garlic Feta. They were all really good.
Friends
Our friends, the Johnsons, are moving to South Carolina. Kali, in particular, will MISS them greatly!!! These little Dudes and Miss Dudette are very special to her! So are Daddy Dude and Mommy Dudette.
Yesterday K. and I had a great time. We went shopping for "stuff". Found some way cool stuff and backpacks to put it in. Used the sewing machine and put each kid's name on a backpack. Then stuffed them with the things K. picked out for each one. Had another backpack full of goodies to eat on the way! Lincoln to S.C. is a loooooonnnnnggggg trip ☺
Took the bags over this afternoon after the kids were out of school. Kali got in one more hug. Sunday we'll say good-bye for a while...they'll be back. And I'm threatening to send K. to S.C. in a box via UP.S!!!

Believe it or not... Mommy Dudette beat me getting this on her blog!!!!!! Course, we went out for supper....pictures to follow soon ☺

Happy 19th Birthday Dad!!!
Yep, today my Dad finally turns 19!!!
How many of you can say that about a parent?
In 2001, Chad turned 17... the same age as his Grandpa. In 2002, Chad was older!
In 2006, Sam turned 18 ... tha same age as Grandpa. In 2007, Sam was older! Now, until December, Sam and Grandpa are the same age!
Poor Kali. She has to wait until 2013 when she turns 20 and will be the same age as Grandpa!

Happy Birthday Ryssa

Ryssa and I went shopping on Saturday for her birthday present....sewing machine shopping! How fun! She's interested in doing some sewing...and needed a machine. Darn...had to go shopping. That's such a tough job, someone had to do it. We got her a cute "little" machine called a Husky.Star. This little machine has 60 built in stitches! And a memory (so you can string stitches together in a design). It sews great.
